This policy explains what Variety Gamers collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: this is a one-person reference site, not an ad business. It does not sell your data, it does not run advertising or cross-site tracking, and it honors the Global Privacy Control signal your browser can send.

Information collected automatically

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the standard request data your browser sends when it loads a page: your IP address, the browser and operating system you are using, the page you requested, and the referring page. This is used to serve the site, keep it available, and protect it from abuse. It is a normal part of how the web works and is not tied to any advertising profile of you.

Analytics

Variety Gamers uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read and roughly how many people read them. Google Analytics sets cookies, such as _ga, so that repeat page loads from the same browser can be told apart and counted as one visitor rather than many. This is used only to measure traffic in aggregate. It is not used for advertising, for building a profile of you, or for tracking you across other sites.

Google Analytics respects the Global Privacy Control. If your browser or a browser extension sends the GPC signal, the analytics script is never loaded at all, so no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google from your visit.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing Google's officialAnalytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies described above, and only when analytics is loaded. The main one, _ga, holds a random identifier used to distinguish one browser from another so visits can be counted. There are no advertising cookies on this site and no cross-site tracking of any kind. If the GPC signal is present, or if you clear or block cookies, these are not set.

Your choices and rights

Variety Gamers does not sell your personal information, and it does not share it for advertising or profiling. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the only data involved is standard hosting logs and aggregate analytics, these requests are usually straightforward to handle.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for advertising. This site does not share information for advertising in the first place, and it honors the Global Privacy Control automatically, so a GPC signal from your browser is treated as a valid opt-out request without any further action from you.
